Having in mind ahead of time how you want to be seen as a leader will then help you fulfill that role. What are your desired outcomes? How do you want to leave your team feeling and thinking? And what do you need to do to show up that way and act upon it? Hear about the difference of a powerful leader and an attractive leader, as well as a blended style that research has found to be most successful.

CONVERSAT10N: Hear a conversation about being a CHAMP10N for people and finding a support team that is best for you. Sometimes, we confuse familiarity for knowledge, and it can be hard to change your perspective after awhile. Empathetic curiosity will allow you to find out what performance barriers the other person is facing from a place of kindness and support, rather than it being accusatory or cause more damage. Being kind and supportive during difficult times is a huge winning strategy to anchor in faith, love, and truth. We must move forward from a place of hope and acknowledge that we all struggle at times.

Anchoring in truth, faith, and love within competitive greatness is essential to be able to honor yourself and your story and have the courage to ask for help. Though at times it is difficult to remember or we are told differently, our appearance has no bearing on our value or worth. As a coach, the subliminal messages we send to athletes can sometimes damage the wellbeing of athletes without intending to. Choosing our words carefully and navigating stigmas of beauty are essential to cultivate wellbeing, especially within younger athletes and the diet culture that exists today. It’s not always about getting the W – sometimes, its just about the life lessons learned within sports that you can carry with you forever.
